How to play Mahjong – Part 2

A set of Mahjong tiles will be different from place to place. Each of the Mahjong tiles having different meaning. Let us find out what exactly a set of Mahjong tiles have.

108 suit tiles which consist of 36 of Dots tiles, 36 of Bams tiles and 36 of Characters tiles.

Dots



Each tile of dots consists of a number of circles. Different dots tile consist of different number of circle and are start from 1 to 9. We also call dots as “Tong” in mandarin.

Bams


Bams can also call as lines or Bamboos stick. It consists of 1 to 9 lines or bamboos stick in each bam tiles. Bams so call “Suo” in mandarin.

Characters



Name of each character tiles represent ten thousand or “Wan” in mandarin.

28 honors tiles which consist of 16 of Wind tiles and 12 of Dragon tiles.

Winds



Wind tiles consist of East tiles, South tiles, West tiles and North tiles. In mandarin, the wind tiles is call “Dong”, “Nam”, “Xi” and “Pei”.

Dragons



Dragon tiles consist of 3 different characters which are red tile (“Zhong”), green tile (“Fa”) and white tile (“Pai”)

8 bonus tiles which consist 4 seasons and 4 different animals

Flowers



Flower tiles consist of 4 seasons and 4 different animals. You can also add 4 more flower to play more fun.
